Book launch! Creativity Workbook now available

Emma’s latest book will be available on your local Amazon store this week (we’re just waiting for Amazon to approve). This book is for you if you’ve lost your photo mojo, worry about whether you’re doing it right, are stuck on a photography plateau or have simply run out of ideas. It’s a slim volume: it’s not overwhelming yet still manages to be chock-full of creativity exercises you can start today.

This is NOT a recipe book of “creative” photographs to take: there are no photos to copy here. There are plenty of other books showing you how to take photos of oil on water, spin wire wool or create smoke patterns in Photoshop. This IS a workbook to write in and to make your own. Emma wants you to uncover your creative self not simply copy someone else’s style of photo. Not all of the exercises need your camera. A lot of the things you’ll be doing will be hard work. But you’ll emerge confident, creative and ready to have fun again.

Make it personal

Each chapter is entirely customisable to you and your priorities. No two workbooks will look the same once you have doodled and filled in all the exercises. It’s the perfect book to see you through until Spring if you are currently facing another lockdown:

  • Chapter 1: What is creativity? (It’s not just about drawing.)

  • Chapter 2: “About me” – where are you right now creatively?

  • Chapter 3: Making space – let’s prioritise your creative journey for the next few weeks.

  • Chapter 4: The rules – which rules should you listen to and which can you ignore?

  • Chapter 5: Habits – they make us efficient but is it at the expense of our creativity?

  • Chapter 6: Play – when did you last actually have fun?

  • Chapter 7: Fear – the opposite of fear is not peace, it is courage.

  • Chapter 8: The creative process for photographers – things you can do when you’re really stuck.

  • Chapter 9: “About me” at the end – what progress have you made as you worked through the book?
