Win a SpyderX monitor calibration tool
Datacolor have sent me a SpyderX Pro monitor calibration tool to give away in a photo competition. Read on to find out how to enter.
Monitor calibration is an essential step in your digital photography workflow. To ensure consistent colour matching from screen to print you need to make sure that your screen is calibrated neutrally. The common problems encountered with uncalibrated monitors are:
prints coming out too dark
prints having an unnoticed colour cast
By calibrating your monitor you will be able to accurately preview how a print will look.

The competition will take place on Instagram. To enter:

The theme of the photo competition is: colour.
- post your photo on Instagram with the theme “colour” (main feed or stories)
- include the hashtag #AYWMCSpyderX (check you’ve got it right - there’s a lot of initials in there)
- tag @AYearWithMyCamera
By entering you agree to the following terms of the competition:
Closing date for entries: Tuesday 4 February 2020, midnight UK time.
You must have taken the photo. The winner will be required to supply the original full size file with metadata intact to verify ownership. If you publish someone else’s photo you agree to indemnify Emma Davies Photography Ltd and Datacolor against any claims arising against them in relation to such publication.
One entry per Instagram account. Multiple entries by the same account will void all entries for that account.
The winner will be chosen by Emma Davies. No correspondence will be entered into.
Edits and processing are permitted. Any camera can be used including phone cameras.
The winner will be notified by Instagram direct message by midnight UK time Thursday 6 February 2020. They will have 48 hours to respond. If no response a new winner will be chosen.
The winner will need to supply a street address (not PO Box) to take delivery of the SpyderX. Shipping costs included in the prize.
